I am a senior in high school and I want to take more challenging courses to complete my final year. My reason for choosing Toccoa Falls College was due to the fact that my local college is full of bureaucracy. I felt that they did not want me there. I never once had that feeling with Toccoa Falls. That is the main reason why I choose this school. Although, the Christian values the school has had something to do with it as well.…

For this fieldwork assignment I decided to go to a Roman Catholic Church. I was raised Catholic and I went to a Catholic school from second grade to eighth grade so, I had background knowledge on the teaching of the church. I have taken field notes and came across some reoccurring tendencies. All of these reoccurring tendencies support my thesis, which is: one of the many values the Catholic Church holds importance to is having much respect for their God. Throughout this essay I will explain my findings and the correlation between them and my assumption that this particular church holds being respect to a high regard.…
The Annual Catholic Appeal helps families in the Archdiocese of St. Louis every year. By using donated money from the people of St. Louis, the ACA helps everyone out by using the money for various different needs. These include: schools, soup kitchens, families, the homeless, and everyone else in the community. Through the help from the community, the ACA was able to raise over thirteen million dollars, all from donated money. In fact, it was the largest pledge amount in the fifty-nine year history of the ACA. With numbers like these, it raises an interesting question: how are people in my own community and throughout the Archdiocese impacted by the ACA?…
When I think about Virginia Commonwealth University, three words come to mind: diversity, excellence and opportunity. Attending such a college as VCU will not only help me educationally, but it will also help shape up many different aspects of my life for many years to come. From the variety of classes to the incredible diversity, VCU has the potential to shape my college years. Since I was four years old, I have always dreamt of living in the city. However, my dream was short lived seeing as how I have lived in upstate New York my whole life. Clifton Park is so closely knit to the point where everybody knows each other. VCU will thankfully change this for me by allowing me to be a part of such a diverse community. I will have the opportunity…
There are many reasons why I want to attend Archbishop Mitty High School. The academics are very advanced, which would allow me to reach my academic goals within the school. Another reason I want to attend Archbishop Mitty is the variety of after-school activities and clubs. I hope to participate in as many clubs as I can, in and outside of school. When I visited Archbishop Mitty, I realized what a supportive and accepting community the school has. This atmosphere makes students feel comfortable and welcome.…
As a community college student ones goal is to receive a certificate of some sort or transfer on to a university after accomplishing their general education. Although there is some differences between Cal State Fullerton University and Fullerton College, there are also similarities between the two colleges. Some may find going to a community college and then transferring can be a disadvantage, but if you are determined, and for the time being one can benefit from attending Fullerton College before transferring. Both Fullerton University and Fullerton College have great benefactors and overall one…
Part of our obligation as Catholics is to grow in prayer, and participate along with contributing to your parish. Another part of our duty to participate in the parish is to give back to the Lord financially. The Archdiocese of St. Louis has looked out for each other for many years through the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) by the help of their stewardship and generosity. Archbishop Robert J. Carlson also specifically states that “Taking stewardship seriously means giving thanks to God through prayer, participation and generosity.” The ACA calls us to fulfill these obligations that were made recognized by Archbishop Carlson by giving back to the Church once a year since the Catholic Church has given so much for us after all.…
After completion of fourth grade at another local Catholic school, my parents made the decision to switch me over to Blessed Sacrament for a more challenging, educational, and dedicated learning environment. Since joining Blessed Sacrament School, I have practically made honor roll every quarter. My favorite subject is Religion, in which I acquire an A every quarter. From a very early age, my parents…

When I chose to come to CSN high school I was able to grow intellectually and have a change of mindset. CSN high school is a program that allows high school students to earn college credits while still attending high school. The program only takes 50 juniors and 5 seniors every year out of the many applicants. I was able to earn ___ (I will insert the amount of credits I got when I actually apply for college) college credits while attending CSN high school, which has gotten me ready for a college environment. Attending CSN high school was a major event in my life that has prepared me for college.…
When it comes to your junior year of high school the topic college starts to appear in your conversations more often. You start to think about what college you want to attend and then soon enough you start the application process. Some students have the grades and funds to venture off into the collages they want. On the other hand, there are some students who start their college experience at a community college because they don't have the grades or funds to venture off to their dream college. To some, community college is the way to go to get their grades up to par with their dream schools standers or until they have enough funds to attend their dream college. Community college, in some cases, may be a benefit to their students, but in…
As a high school senior I sat in my room trying to decide my future in a day among dozens of college pamphlets. Somewhere at the bottom of all of those brochures was one for Motlow State Community College. Not only was it at the bottom of my pile, but it was completely outside of my radar at the time. Now, so many months later, I am sitting in a room on the Motlow campus typing this. I never once imagined myself here. Nevertheless, attending this school and joining the honors program was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Going on outings with other members of the honors program allowed me to get to know my peers, and in turn allowed me to become more confident in both my verbal and social skills. This will impact my future tremendously…
Since a very young age I was being taught who Jesus was, was read bible stories, and have gone to church. As I grew older, I began to truly understand the things I had been taught and developed my own understanding of my Christian faith. I developed relationships with people within my church and youth group that I attended and was comfortable talking with them about my faith. Also, I have helped lead some of my friends whom did not grow up in a Christ centered environment to Christ. As I was starting my college search I decided that a Christian affiliated school is where I wanted to go. I wanted to be in an environment that could help me grow in my relationship with Christ, grow relationships with other people through Christ, and feel comfortable sharing my beliefs all while receiving a college education.…
