My Worst Job
Terrible place of employment I started working at fifteen years old. I have had a few jobs over the past 11 years, but my current place of employment is the worst one I have ever had. I worked in a welding shop for 7 years. I was the shop manager, which was the highest position that you could achieve there. It was time to get a new job, after there was not any more room to grow in my current one. I then got a job working in the plants for Apache Industrial. We get to do a lot of different things which is why I wanted this job. I have had some issues with other jobs in the past, but my this job is the worst one I have ever had. Our scheduled work day is supposed to be from 5 A.M to 5 P.M, but we always end up having to stay much later. Most times we end up working until it is too dark to see, or until we have finished our scheduled task. We never know when we are going to leave. I usually end up having to work an extra 12 hours each week, which cuts into my school work. We do not have the option to decline the extra work we are expected to be able to work over. The final reason why my job is the worst is driving all over the place. We are required to travel with our own vehicles to various locations during the day. Most of the roads we drive on are dirty and my vehicle collects most of it. We are also required to pay for our own gas which can add up. I usually have to spend 100 to 115 dollars on gas just in a week. I am also required to have other employees ride with me when they do not have their own transportation. The weather also plays a factor, it does not matter the conditions we still have to drive in them. Even though there are many things that I do not like about this job, there still are good things about it. I enjoy a lot of the people I work with, I consider many of them good friends. The pay is also very good, I am able to support myself and go to school off of my salary. This job also inspired me to go back to school, because I wanted to achieve more than I have, and wanted to do better for myself and my
