My Writing Assignment Analysis
As I'm sitting down in my second hour senior composition class and we are given our first writing assignment I begin to think about why I write: I write because I have to. I write to create a once in a lifetime, imputed edition book that reminds us of the past. I write when I'm sitting at home bored and have a ton on my mind. I write because it's a longer skill I will need to use throughout my whole life. I write to imagine the world in a different way. I write to express my imagination and creativity. I write wanting to escape all the stress and negativity in my life. I write to communicate with my friends, family, coworkers, and boss. I write because I want to. I write from the comfort of my bed to the hardness of desk chairs. I

The purpose of this story is to let everyone know about the stereotypes and opinions made about black men. I had no idea that people really were so scared by black people at night so often. I can understand being scared if you’re walking alone at night. I even get scared when I’m walking alone at night, but I don’t discriminate on who I’m scared of. If I see a White, Hispanic, Japanese, or Chinese creep man I’m going to be just as scared of them as if I saw a black creepy man. Creepiness is truly universal.…

I often use my subscriptions to online library databases like the National Defense University or the Joint Forces Staff College for research. To narrow the research, I utilized the National Defense University library database for articles and other information available on government and educational websites. There are several different types of advertising in the world today, like newspaper ads and magazine ads. Then there are commercials, they can be very manipulative in persuading specific audiences to buy their products. In the Pepsi Next “Dancing Baby” commercial, they use what is called a trick image. It is the funniest part of the commercial and is what makes it so appealing. This trick image is the baby in the back ground dancing and doing tricks; it is very eye catching and hilarious in my opinion. This commercial uses different types of appeals to make it more interesting. The husband and wife mention some of the statistics about the product to help enhance Pepsi Next. The target audience is parents of children six months to one year of age and new mothers trying to lose weight. This commercial affects me positively because it is funny and the statistics are true.…

The Wife of Bath’s goal is to give an advice to the women who are not wise—unable to manipulate their husband. Line 230 translates to the following: now listen to how I have conducted myself (Benson). Readers get the opportunity to learn that the Wife of Bath is a powerful manipulator who is attempting to teach other wives how to conduct themselves. Line 231 translates to the following: to the wise wives that are able to understand me (Benson). This line enables the readers to realize that the Wife of Bath is a woman who will refuse to repeat her advice—her audience consists of wives that are able to understand her effectively. Line 232 translates to the following: you should speak to your husband by accusing him wrongfully (Benson). This line allows wives who are not wise to learn how to make their…

In the article “Making the world safe for stupidity”, Leonard Pitts Jr., columnist for The Miami Herald, claims that marketers believe we are “feeble-mindedness” because of the “idiot warnings” that are on most advertisements. Pitts supports his claim by outlining all advertisements that have “idiot warnings” on them. For example he uses “Like a bread-pudding container that says, “Product will be hot after heating.”” This is to show how marketers believe that we are naïve and don’t have common sense. Then, he changes his claim to “Corporate America is to blame because they have damaged the human species”. Pitts’ purpose is to point out that marketers believe we are idiots in order for readers to see why “idiot warnings” were created. He establishes a disappointing and sarcastic tone for his readers to disapprove and laugh with him.…

Everyone writes for different reasons. Writing allows us to tell a story through our own perspective. It allows us to pour all our thoughts and emotions into something that we otherwise might not speak about. Writing can spark ideas and memories we have and draw them out to be put into words on paper. It exercises our mind and our way of thinking. When you write you say what you mean. Some people use writing as an outlet, a way to express themselves or relieve stress and anxiety. It can be used for any purpose. Elie Wiesel uses his experience in the holocaust in a lot of his writing. He feels that he must be the one to tell the story of the victims, the ones who can’t tell it for themselves. As a survivor he is responsible for never letting anyone forget about it. I like to write about something I feel strongly about, something that makes me happy or makes me think, someone or something that has influenced me in different ways. For instance, when I visited Ireland a few years ago, the experience I had there is something I care so much about and it has affected me to such an extent that I want to write about it. The people in my life and the experiences I have had are topics that make me excited to write about.…

I have never had to write about something that I did not have a prompt for When given something to write about I can certainly come up with things to fill in the blanks or put some time into researching it. The first essay for this class had a prompt topic and it was easy to complete the assignment. Writing the story was easy; correcting grammatical errors was hard! This second essay is a little more challenging. I had a hard coming up with a list of topics that I could write about. The brainstorming was hard and took me more time then the allotted suggested time. A time limit along with a minimum number of topics made the process feel overwhelming. I tried playing music, sitting in complete silence but nothing helped. The brainstorming…

English Composition I was the most challenging class for me this semester. English is my second language, so i probably take more time than other take to finish my papers. I never wrote a proposal argument or a fit review. Also i never wrote a essay with a source page at the end, so i can show the reader where i got that information from. This house was challenging for me because of the time I spent writing papers, the time i spent with a writing touter, and reviewing the papers. Every paper I wrote in this class I spent time and effort writing it. I was challenging my self at the begging of the semester if i can continue the class without going to the writing lab, but I realized that still my English was not that good to write a paper with…
