As a child, I did not appreciate writing because I did not enjoy it. When I thought of the concept of writing, I saw it as a burden. This helped me keep track of my goals, ideas, and thoughts. This was a new passion of mine a side from books. Journals became a friend. When I had secrets and thoughts that I did not want to share with my actual friends, I reached for my journal and I would write away in my journal. As a twelve year old, this was very therapeutic. I kept writing in a journal until I reached sixteen. This was one of the best things I did as a child. I kept my journal throughout the years. I have my journal until this day. I look back at my journal and reflect on my life. I appreciate having a journal, because my journal consists of important events, ideas, and thoughts. Writing is a form of memory keeping for me, because some of the things I did as a child, I don’t recall. When I look back at my journal the events start coming back to me. I am grateful for my journal, because when I have a family. I could share my childhood memories with my children that I’ve kept in my journal.
Documenting events, ideas, and thoughts is crucial, because this enables people to pass down stories, events, and ideas down from generation-to-generation. Without writing, this world wouldn’t have important documentations. All we would have is vocal stories to
