As a junior in high school, I have done multiple writing assignments so far throughout my education. I have written a short story, persuasive paper, process paper, poems, essays, journal entries, ........?? To write a well written paper, you need to clear your mind and let the thoughts come to you. I go to a room where it’s quiet so I don’t get distracted and let my mind think. In elementary and middle school, I wrote easy papers or small essays. It was easy to write a simple and tiny paragraphs. The teachers weren’t looking for perfect grammar or ideal sentences. Once I hit freshman year, the papers and writing assignments got more strict. I had to put more time into my writing and make my sentences more advanced. I like writing persuasive …show more content…
To get started, I go to a room by myself and try not to think too hard about what I’m trying to say. I think of a good beginning sentence and go from there. I try not to write too late at night because I lose sight of what I’m trying to say because I could be too tired or not concentrated enough. Picking a good time of the day is crucial. Getting other homework done before writing can help because then you won’t feel stressed out about other things you have to do. Going to a quiet room helps me write. I don’t necessarily revise my paper as I’m writing it. I write the whole thing then go back through it and make corrections. To write a paper, I use my computer. It’s easier for me to type it than write it out because it takes less time. Having a deadline is easier for me because I know how long I get to write the paper. It helps me get my brain thinking about what I’m going to write.

Writing can be good because it can help you relieve your stress and you can express what you are thinking. Nobody is telling you what you have to write when doing a paper or a journal entry. You get to choose what you think is important and make the paper your own. Everyone can be a good writer if that’s what they desire. To be a good writer, one needs to know how to set up a paper, do research, have an open and positive mindset, desire, commitment, and many other qualities. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish

My writing process is usually all over the place, I have to be in my room with my door shut, my music on, my fan on, and my television on, weird, I know, but that is what I have to do in order to keep myself concentrated. After I am all situated I begin by writing down different ideas on a couple sheets of paper, listing ways I could support this idea and how it relates to my topic, sometimes when I am stuck I look up sample essays online to help me out of my rut. Once I finally choose an idea I start writing the first things that pop into my head down on another sheet of paper, it usually ends up being a jumbled mess that only I can understand. After all of my ideas are laid out onto the paper I begin placing numbers beside them so I know…

The writing process is a step by step process that requires different stages of development in order to construct an essay or paper. Every writer has a different and unique writing process. Personally, I believe that there is no single approach to producing an essay, rather multiple ways in which a writer may arrive at the final product. My writing process breaks down into four main steps; pre-writing, writing, revising/editing and then rewriting. Throughout my years of writing in high school I have never considered myself to be a strong writer. The writing process can be very frustrating for me, because even after I have done my brainstorming and organizing, once I begin writing I will instantly start crossing out what I wrote and changing my sentences. This sometimes can make the writing process seem long and tedious, and is often very frustrating, however, by exploring and practicing the different steps of the writing process that work best for me I will able to produce well written essays that clearly communicate my intended message to my reader. In this essay I will examine my writing process, in hopes of becoming a more skilled writer and communicator, and will further develop my ability to create thoughtful and well-constructed essays. Because I believe that writing is a skill that is utilized throughout a person’s life, it is essential to know how to prepare, organize and edit as it is useful in a myriad of situations.…

When writing an assignment for class my approach is simple; Research, prewriting, rough draft, editing, and final draft. Whether or not the assignment has a topic that is picked for me or I have to pick it myself I make sure I do my search. When I feel that I have all the information necessary I then start with an outline. When my outline is complete I then start forming my paper by free writing by writing nonstop until I run out of things to write about. I then organize my paper by weaving out the bad writing from the good. I then write my rough draft with the information I have wrote with my free writing. Editing is the next step and my editing skills are not that great so I try to have someone revise my work; four eyes are better than two. Once my mistakes are caught I write my final draft making sure I don’t make any more spelling or grammar errors. Last I turn my assignment in to the proper authority. I don’t believe my writing process differs from the formal writing process. In our text, in my own words, the writing process is prewriting, drafting, editing and publishing. I find that when I do differ from the writing process my paper doesn’t always turn out so good. If I just write a rough draft then edit the paper it seems rushed and I usually receive a rough grade. In conclusion, my approach to writing is simple I stick to the basics by following the writing process.…

The process I use throughout my writing has developed during the course of many years. I have added several steps in order to produce an extraordinary and well-written product. I believe well-written papers take time and effort to get to a more perfect product. I get all of my books, research, and notebook paper together so that I will be organized before I proceed. The first step I take toward planning my paper is to think about my topic and establish my audience and purpose. Then, I research for more information on my topic before I write on a piece of paper or touch my laptop so that I have a clear understanding as I plan my essay. I keep my thoughts clear and try to be open-minded at all times so that my paper can be as well-thought-out as possible. The process of thinking about my prompt allows me to ensure that I am responding to the question or prompt and it helps me create a clear focus on my essay’s topic. I also decide if there is an argument and a counter argument. I then begin a jot list that helps me create a written plan using my thoughts and putting them into short phrases and words. Finally, I begin to create a basic thesis statement that applies to the type of paper I am writing and I check that my thesis sums up what the essay will be focusing on.…

A well-written paper is one that doesn’t need to be constantly pondered upon to be able to understand or perceive the author’s point. Most people, as we know, read for leisure and not so much for mental stimulation. If they wanted to do something stimulating they would perhaps solve a crossword puzzle or a math question rather than decode a haphazard written essay.…

My biggest accomplishment in this class is improvement in writing, and I plan to focus on editing on grammar for the remaining weeks. In the past few weeks, I learned how to write papers faster and more effectively. Previously, I was a slow and weak writer. I took more than two hours to write a page, which meant I took over four hours to finish a full paper. Thus, it was stressful when I took diagnostics and midterm. Although I took a long time to write, I still did not write a strong paper. The reason is that I did not brainstorm before I started writing. Now, I write paper faster because I write down everything that I want to talk about first, without caring about grammar. I wrote down all the evidences and quotes, and then I organize them…

When I got to college I really learned how to write. I also learned how to read and comprehend. My teachers did a good job teaching me more about writing papers. I found all my weaknesses and strengths in writing. I was still struggling but I was getting the hang of it. As the semester was going I was getting better in my writing. I was finally getting some confidence when I got an assignment. The assignments didn’t have me stressing as I would’ve been doing in high school. I was getting comfortable with what I was doing. When we were assigned our first paper I wasn’t nervous at all. I used all the strategies that I was taught. Free writing and brainstorming was used the most. Brainstorming was my favorite strategy to use though. It…

I had thought that my writing was decent before I started this class, only to find out there’s an easier more effective way to pen words to a paper. A way, that maybe, people might get what you’re saying in a straightforward kind of way instead of all over! Once I found my way, I realized that I could add more to my paper without sounding so redundant. As I reflect over the fall semester, I remember the first free writing assignment we did and how I didn’t know what to write, much less how to start. Going from having my thoughts all over the place and trying to write like I text, in a hurry. This was not a good start for me, so as our classes went on and the more we’ve worked, the easier it’s become to write a paper. Even though I’ve left out my thesis on my rough drafts numerous times! Now when I write a paper the words come more freely and with a point.…

Academic and professional writing is a process that involves a sequence of structured steps. Many inexperienced writers struggle because they treat writing as a single shot effort in which a document is drafted all in one sitting. My suggestion to the future COM/155 students in reality writing involves more than just taking a pen ,or computer in hand, and expecting the words to flow perfectly in an organized or focused manner. Most professional writers plan, write and rewrite multiple drafts of a document before achieving a finish product. The process of writing is creative and personalized to the individual writer, but following a series of steps can help you as an inexperience writer eliminate much of the frustration and difficulty many people experience. The writing process has three main parts: pre-writing, composing, and post-writing. These three parts can be divided into five parts, which consist of (1)Planning(2)Gathering/Organizing( 3)Composing/Drafting(4)Revising/editing (5)Proofreading. These are my instruction to the future COM/155 Students, and here is an outline for you to follow to help you become successful writers. A: Planning…
