My Writing Reflection

Throughout this year, my writing has progressed in both negative and positive ways, but mostly positive ways. I have improved in many ways from looking at some of my first writings. I remember walking around the hall and trying to find room 544. Walking in and seeing all of the books along with posters, realizing it was actually the first day of school. Finding my seat was not too hard because it happened to be the first one when walking in. Soon, we began our first writing assignment of the year and I did not know how it was going to turn out until reading it for the first time. I was proud of what I had written, but after looking at it again towards the end of the year, I am shocked. As I am beginning my last writing assignment of the year, it has really shown how much my writing has changed overall. I have
One of my most challenging weaknesses is figurative language. Figurative language has challenged me over the past couple of years, especially working with symbols. Although, I have gotten much better with similes and personification. Different kinds of figurative language that I would consider a weakness are symbols and metaphors. I would consider both of these weaknesses because of how I tend to express symbols. Most of the time, I can do it pretty well, but other times I tend to confuse myself and wonder what the symbol might actually mean. In my poem, I struggled with creating symbols, but after reviewing how other symbols were used in poems, I made sure it was the best it could possibly be. Using metaphors is not something that I would consider a strength, but it is not something I would consider as a weakness either. In my Poem, I also used some metaphors, but creating them was a little challenging, although I do understand them for the most part. I can always use more advice and extra help to make my metaphors the best they can be, as well as many other types of figurative
