Unlike my first
attempt to attend college immediately after high school (18), returning to college (32) I successfully received a letter of commendation in my first semester. Excited to have attained the Dean’s List in my last semester, consequently my employer relocated and my studies were put on hold. Now that I am wiser and have experienced leadership in both the public and private business sectors, I am completely confident I will receive greater benefit from returning back to college. My decision to return to college comes from knowing my purpose in life and becoming part of the stretching environment along with my hands-on / problem-solving personality, I believe I can grow in my professional skills.
My peers will also benefit from my action-oriented and practical ways, as well as enjoy my assertive, personable, and resourceful personality. Ordinarily, I thrive on self-structured, and competitive environments, nevertheless combined with my niche for team development, I know the learning environment will be extremely enjoyable, while the students all sharpen our professional skills as a team.
Ultimately, I am looking to be part of Monroe College to complete my Master's Degree in the Online Fast Track Program within a year. And although I have accomplished a significant amount of goals in my life, attaining my degree has been one of my immense life challenges. Unfortunately, there is never sufficient time to inspire someone with my story, but if I can sum it up in one word; I would use none other than relentless. Over the years it has become imperative to me, that my three teenage daughters can appreciate and grasp the view of an independent woman, facing daily challenges, accomplish this one goal. Moreover, that the idea that anything is possible, is engraved in their minds forever.
