Mysterious Island, By Istvan Orosz, Ledent Pol And Gustav Klimt
In modern society love has become a much broader topic. The word love has now become part of everyday life. In the process of creating an artwork, there has been problems I have faced. The artists Istvan Orosz, Joseph Le, Ledent Pol and Gustav Klimt have been relevant sources for solving the problem of how to represent multiple interpretations within one artwork though its subject matter and materials, my first artwork was also a problem solver.
Mysterious Island (2010) by Istvan Orosz, (see Image 1) consists of a cylindrical mirror on top of a drawing, so that the flat and distorted graphite drawing is transformed into a three dimensional reflection in the mirror. The figure on the right appears beastly and the other figure is a nude female body with the limbs and head cropped off. Due to the positioning of the two bodies and careful use of subject matter, the two figures together, look like the human heart. This is where the influence came in of the different views as you can see the figures and you can see the human heart. This artwork also shows how in the subject matter one can portray a certain emotion in this case a form of aggressive love and beastly love. This influenced the meaning of my artwork as it shows how certain passions and emotions can be the reason a person loves something or someone, or that love can cause a person to act in a certain manner. This artwork also shows how one can see more than one view or image in the artwork, in this case being the human heart and thee two beastly …show more content…
The figures are basic line paintings with very little detail. This gave me the idea that a person could love even the simplest things in life. This artwork also represents a certain emotion, that being antique love, which is a more delicate and rare to find kind of love as that is what I understood by the title Antique Love. This again showed me another way of how society has interpreted love all differently and that there is not only one specific type of love. The two figures clinging onto one another has influenced my artwork in the sense that society is one and that society is all united, this is represented with the two hands being held

    It was my first time at that museum and I am surely I will be back to do the audio tour. The artwork I chose was Lovers In the Park by Francois Boucher and was made in 1758. I was attracted to this piece because I instantly recognized the Rococo style of painting in which I really enjoy. To have the opportunity to experience and physically see a Rococo painting in person truly brings to life everything we discussed in class such as the gentle brushstrokes and meaningful colors that are involved and used in the Rococo style. I decided to challenge my skills and try to interpret the meaning of the painting on my own. From my first few glimpses of the painting, I noticed how the couple on the right had wealthy looking attire so I’m assuming they are aristocrats. To the left, there is another woman walking by and it seems as if the man is smirking at her in almost a flirtatious way while his girlfriend is unaware and stares into space. I also noticed that there are two baby statues above them that seem to aware of what was going on as they looked down at the couple. to me, the baby statues were a symbol of innocence and the dog next to the couple was a symbol of loyalty. The expressions on the figures faces were soft and pleasant. The image confirmed to express that at that time men were wealthy and powerful, and were able to get away with having more than one spouse, although you can tell the girlfriend in the painting seems somewhat uneasy with the situation. It turns out that the painting is Boucher's way of remarking on the endless game of love. "It invites the viewer to dream awhile" it continued to say and it successfully did that for…
