There are other organizations massage therapist that have ethical guidelines, but the NCBTMB is the most prestige. The NCBTMB standards help guide massage therapists, in a fast-changing practice in the health care field. Even though, massage therapy is not considered an orthodox way of treatment or medicine, massage therapist still need ethical guidelines. Massage therapists still have close connection with their clients, to provide therapeutic body work for soft tissue manipulation. The NCBTMB set the standards for massage therapists continuing education requirements, so therapists may be current on therapeutic techniques.
