Inheriting money from a distant aunty Wake became a journalist in Europe. 1932 interviewed she interviewed Hitler and saw treatment of jewish first hand in Vienna. In charge of the Maquis band of 7,000 wake was described, “of all the variously talented woman SOE sent to France, Nancy Wake was perhaps the most formidable.”Conducting the collection of Parachute drops and to safe travel of wireless codes to connect with London, as well as leading measurable distraction on German troops and resources.

After D-Day Germans retreated out of France Aug 25 1944, France liberated, Nancy then finds out her husband, Henri was torched and executed by Gestupo, for not giving up any information of Nancy’s whereabouts.
