Just a young girl
The book “A Diary of a young girl” by Anne Frank is a must read and a re-read kind of book. There are so many interesting and heart retching events that occur throughout this book. Anne made it very easy for the reader to get hooked on the novel and not want to ever put it down but, there are also some point as if she is rambling. While reading the book you almost felt as though you were Anne’s best friend “kitty (what she called her diary). There was also so much detail and was easy to create a great mental picture.
The Diary of Anne Frank was from thirteen year old girls prospective of World War II. Being Jewish, Anne is forced to go into hiding with her family to escape Nazi prosecution. She receives her diary as a gift for her thirteenth birthday, a few months before she goes into hiding. The Diary becomes more than a friend to her, it becomes her life. She fills the diary with pictures, maps, thoughts, fears, and on the news of the Secret Annex. The diary that she carries threw her time of hiding becomes her favorite thing to do. She spent most of her day writing in the diary, giving away the secrets of her life. She changes names of the others in the Annex to protect them from the Nazis just in case she was apprehended. When she gets found out, the Gestapo spread her diary across the floor. Miep Gies soon recovers it, risking her own life. It's a book about growing up, a book about changing from a girl into a young woman with hopes, dreams, fears, and desires. It's a book about being that age. That extremely awkward stage of life when you don’t really know who to talk to or what to talk about. Anne was at the moody, I-hate-you, you-don't-understand-me stage in her life and just expressed all her feeling to “kitty” , her diary.
The novel is a sad but also heartwarming story. I feel as if Anne taught a lot of people today what really happed back then. The Diary of a Young Girl is a very
