Knowing that I won is always a great feeling but it's a better feeling beating someone from a different school.
Next we got our varsity singlet, warm up jacket and pants, as for our opponent he gets the JV gear. My coach informed us that tomorrow is our very first tournament of the season, I’m thinking that we get to wake up at 8 or 9 but then the coach told us that we need to be at the school by 4am to drive down to the tournament. I was in shock of the news and kind of mad that we have to wake up so early. It's the next morning and all of us are tired and wanting to go back to bed, we waited for everyone to show up to the school so we could start driving down to the
tournament. Once we got there we had to go weigh in. I was waiting nervously thinking that I wasn’t going to make weight because I ate a little bit too much at dinner but once I stepped on the scale I was under. Once we were done weighing in we get ready by warming up. Then we have to wait patiently until one of us hears their name being called, as I was waiting I asked my coach what time the tournament is over and he responds with “at 6pm”. At tournaments if someone loses twice they don't get to wrestle anymore, but if they lose only one and win one they keep on going until they lose.Once I lost I couldn’t leave because not everyone was done wrestling and we had to stay as a team. These tournaments are so exhausting because it’s an all day thing.
