When writing a narrative essay you can express you can express your thoughts and feeling towards the topic you are writing about. This is an opportunity to be created in your work to get the readers attention. The lists of narrative essay components are dialogue, figurative language, choosing details, and intensify verbs. Dialogue is the intentional conversation that can have readers to think about your writing as if it is happening to them. It takes us away from what is going on around us and focus on what we are reading. Be creative
Figurative language is nonliteral. It goes beyond basic definitions and suggests imaginative connections between ideas. Consider incorporating the following types of figurate language into your writing: metaphor, simile, understatement, and hyperbole. (Textbook pg. 52)
Choosing details creates what you are portraying in your writing. It explains what your topic is about and what you want your readers to understand.
Intensify verbs are like intense verbs that create specific images of movement. It is easy to use weaker verbs, such as is, are, was, and were. But such verbs do little to propel the reader’s mind through ideas. (Textbook pg. 55)
The strategies I will use to select a topic for an assignment would be about a past experience that I have done or witness. Some people do many different things such as travel to areas that the average person would not thing of. For example I am from the Caribbean, many people I encounter when I go to the states never heard about it or others would state that they visit my sister island. I find it strange that our culture learns about the US in school, but the children in the states no nothing about us.
