I had joined the drama club, the improv club, and even the main production of the year. Even then, I also had strong conflicting feelings about still playing the saxophone. Towards the end of the 6th grade, I had realized how skilled I actually was with the instrument, but still decided to put it back in its case and become a “drama geek”. During the summer of 2015, I decided to not be in the school band or take lessons, so I put my saxophone back in the original case I bought it in and still take it out every month or so, just to see what condition it’s in. For a little bit over two years, I still take out my saxophone once a month, just to check on it. I still act, and I’m also taking private piano lessons once a week. About a month ago, I took it out of its case and actually started playing it. To my surprise, once I started playing it, I realized that I still carried my knowledge of the instrument, and was still very skilled with it. I might even pick it up for good in the future, who knows. Consequently, mistakes are not as bad as they seem. Although they might not seem to help you at first, you can always count on the fact that you’ll learn from them. Mistakes are merely small “errors” that people make to learn from; to teach them important life
