Scouted at the age of 19, Sabita Karki has now become an epitome that we have all come to love. Being the first Nepali to get titled as the First Runner Up in India’s Next Top Model season three, she is also regarded as one of the top new faces to look after in modeling industry of both Nepal and India. As I started working, I got to travel a lot. I met new people everywhere and above all got to try new varieties of dishes. As a foodie, what more would I ask for! Similarly, receiving invitations of thrilling parties, dressing well and looking pretty all the time were other good parts. I was also called role model by many people. He is a confident and bold person who rarely lets other knows about their weakness. Through my life, he has always taught me to become fearless and stand for the right. It was because of him that I can actually communicate well and maintain a good relation with everyone.
From a Nepali part-time model to the 1st runner-up of INTM, how will you summarize this journey?
I felt as if I was on some big roller coaster of emotions, not knowing what will come next. While preparing for the show, I had to maintain my diet correctly and overcome my fair of water because as per the previous seasons, there were high chances of underwater photo shoots tasks. So at the beginning, it was really hard and nerve wrecking. When the show started, competing with professionals and highly skilled models were not as easy as shown on the Television. However, gradually those feelings of difficulty turned into excitements.
I made new friends and got chances to closely view the huge modeling industry of India. Later after months of hard work, winning the title of First Runner-up was extremely satisfactory. For a dreamer like me, it felt like taking a very first step in achieving to stand out among all.
