Narrative Essay On Halloween
My life is very dull, and when a fun moment happens it is very easy to remember it. One such time was when my friend Payton Holm and I went around Royalton on Halloween. A week before Halloween we agreed togo walk in town.On the afternoon of Halloween I went to my Grandma’s house to get something to eat for the shenanigans later. Payton Holm is my best friend from school, and we have been friends since 1st grade. I agreed to meet him at 4:30 after school in my Grandma’s driveway. I walked into the driveway at precisely 4:20, in case he came early. The driveway is old, with some uneven spots. The large white pine swayed in the little wind there was. I was calmly standing there until I heard something.I did not know what it could be, it sounded …show more content…
Until I looked up and saw a small group of kids, walking towards us. They had many colorful costumes. One was a ladybug, while another was what seemed to be a frog. They just shuffled up the street, with their bags rustling around and occasionally making bumping sounds when they tapped into a childs leg. Me and Payton laughed as we didn’t know what to do as they walked by. When they were close Payton decided to yell “Oh meesa Jar Jar Binks”! The kids were confused, as they did not know we were there hiding. They scanned around in a attempt to see who it was, but we were either hidden pretty good or they saw us but didn’t care. They walked away quickly, probably being disturbed by some lunatic yelling a weird phrase from the woods. Payton and I laughed for a solid ten minutes after that, reciting “Oh Meesa Jar Jar Binks”. By now it was 5:30, and no kids came by so we could not yell it again. Then all of a sudden Payton had a scared looking face, and he yelled “run”! I was confused at first then I looked to my right and saw Tyler Stahl standing about ten to fifteen feet away, and as we said we would we ran away from him. We ran into my Grandma’s cellar, believing that Tyler would surely follow after us. We ran in and shut the door. “Did he follow us? I could not see.” “No man Tyler just stood there confused”, said Payton. “He was probably shocked that I could run”, I said. The cellar was cold, I looked around …show more content…
We went up the road to the Elementary school again, however he is gone. After our search to find him failed, we returned to the nature center to get ready for some more fun. I hear rustling in the woods, and when I turn around Tyler Stahl is approaching us. However this time we do not run, and we ask how he is doing. He asks us “why did you run away from me?” however not in an angry voice. However we cut him off and want to know what he was thinking when we ran away from him. I hoped we didn’t cause him to feel left out, but then we found out he was confused that we ran away, and waited in the bushes for twenty minutes waiting for us. We laughed then asked if he wanted to join us. He agreed and we waited in the bushes and waited. It was around 6-6:30 now, so it was getting darker outside. Then a group of six to ten little kids came down the street. These kids were older than the last group, so they had scarier costumes. One wore a bloody mask, while another wore what I thought to be either Emperor Palpatine or Darth Vader. One was a robot, and one was a bee? Must have been a younger group after

With Halloween just recently occurring, I thought it was appropriate to write my rhetorical analysis on something that pertains to both the holiday and what it means for many college students in today’s American society. So, after looking through countless pages of different news websites and periodicals, I finally found one in particular that really caught my eye. It was titled “Why Halloween at College Is So Frightening” and it was written by a professor at Emory University named Mark Bauerlein.…

Today there was a holiday carnival and I saw Jem and Scout dressed up as a ham. I noticed this weird guy following them, I believe he goes by the name of Bob Ewell. I decided I would follow them as Atticus wasn't with them and I knew something was unusual. I'm super glad that I followed them because next thing I knew Bob tried stabbing them with a knife. I grabbed the knife and he didn't expect it. Next thing I knew I stabbed him and saved the two terrified kids. It was really dark out and it all happened so fast.…

Even though I had left home at my own accord, I felt abandoned like someone’s poor, unwanted pet. I longed to hear someone frantically calling my name, asking if anyone had seen a small, blonde child. I turned to look behind me hoping my silent plea would be answered. I wanted to found, I wanted to be punished for running away, I wanted someone to know I existed. But at the same time I didn’t want to be caught because I wanted to see Jem and Scout, so I did my best not to draw attention to myself. My heart was being torn in two directions, it was painful, and…

On the night of Saturday, October 11th, Logan and I went out for a typical Saturday date night. This night in particular we had decided to do a haunted hayride called the Gauntlet at Harvest Hill Farm. The night was going well, we were enjoying one cheap scare after another. Until, suddenly the ride in front of us tumbled down a hill and rolled over. I don't recall thinking at all,…

Then a tall homeless man with a dirty gray cap, big scary eyes, and dirty torn clothes, then stared at my cousins and I. He suddenly turned behind our backs and started to follow us without our knowledge for a moment until we couldn’t see anything but the sun and the sound of cars around us, it was like he was invisible, suddenly he jumped behind us and sprayed us with some type of mist that made us all fall to the ground. A few minutes later, when we opened our eyes, we found ourselves near a big garbage can with no one around us we were clueless. There we saw a small sticky note that was stuck to the side of the garbage…

Tired, with a headache, and not in capacity to maintain my eyes open, I remembered next day was Halloween, which was the last thing I remembered before falling sleep. I woke up and saw the watch, it was three o’clock a.m. I listened to a weird sound that came from my closet; it was soft, but I could hear it like a rat scratching the walls. Intrigued about what was happening, I woke up and walked towards the closet. The sound gave me the chills.…

Most people rely on the security and care of others to provide for their loved ones when they put them in a nursing home. What they don’t realize is how much neglect goes on to the people they care most about. Residents are at risk of being abused by their caretakers but they are also at risk of being restrained, which may lead to a form of abuse. At Southwestern Nursing Home I have witnessed forms of neglect and abuse. Nursing homes are meant to be a place for security for the elderly to be cared for in their golden years, and it has become an unpleasant experience for senior citizens being subjected to acts of abuse and neglect.…
