Narrative On Costco

I was eating dinner with his family I brought up how they are opening a new store “Did you hear about the new store that’s opening two blocks down,”I stated “I heard it’s going to be Costco” I was g0ing to continue but then his brother Jack cut him off like he always does “Yeah I heard about that sounds promising.” They all nodded their heads. “Word of mouth says they open in a week, should we go?” My dad asked “Sure why not.” Jack said. I didn’t really care if we went or we didn’t then the rest of the day was normal I finished my homework and then watched some tv until my mom to go to sleep since it was a school night. I woke up did my regular routine in the morning and I rode my bike to school I remember seeing my crush once I got there
and when I was locking up my bike and she came up to me. “Hey Eric.” Klaris said. “Hello, I heard that you don't have a date to prom” I said kind of anxious. “Would you like to go with me?” I asked without noticing I wasn’t surprised that I said it i'm surprised with her response there was like a split second of silence we were both shocked “Yeah that would be really fun!” She finally exclaimed “ Okay so I guess I’ll pick you up next week on the 15th.” I said. She nodded and I went to my class I was so happy the rest of the day and when I got home my mom Anna and Jack was wondering why I was so happy they never questioned it but they definitely gave me a look “I got a date to prom.” I finally said. Jack gave me a look he was impressed but of kind of jealous but respected him enough not to go behind his back and get Klaris because we both knew if he asked Klaris she would've said yes. My mom was surprised I didn't blame her really “Wow, you can use my car or your father’s car.” she exclaimed. Once she said father I got nervous because they last time I had a date or a girlfriend he laughed at me and Jack joined I got so frustrated and went to my room my mom did try to knock some sense into him but I don't know if she did. He got home an hour later we had dinner first then once we finished and jack was watching TV and Anna was washing dishes I went in my parent’s room right before my dad was about to take a shower and then I told him “Dad I'm going to prom with Klaris” he looked at me “I'm proud of you, I’m sorry for what happened last time I only laughed because I was relieved.” he sighed. “Why?” I asked. “I thought you were gay so I was just relieved and I guess Jack joined in because he thought I was making fun of you but he loves you, The only reason I thought that was because you always go in Jack’s room and then com back to your room in at 4 am.” Darrell said “That is the only I was probably over thinking like I always do.” “Wow, I’m slightly relieved but offended at the same time, really I only went to Jack’s room because, don't tell him , but I miss being with him more we haven’t been bonding lately.” I said “Whatever it’s better then you laughing at me.” I gave him a big hug after that I just walked out the room and continued the rest of the day how I usually would. The rest of the week went by fast and before I know it prom is here and I’m getting ready I didn't wear a suit I just got a dress shirt, dress shirt, and a pair of dress shoes. I picked up Klaris “Wow you are stunning!” I exclaimed a little more louder than I would've liked. “Aw thank you,” she said blushing “honestly I didn't think this was a good dress but i'm glad you like it.” “Like it? I love it.” I stated.
By that I knew this was going to be one of the best nights of my life, it was but it went by fast once I got home it was already 12 am but my parents went to sleep. When I woke up it was very early I would've kept on sleeping, but then I remembered that we were going to go to the grand opening of the new. Once we got there I saw that it was called “Costco Wholesale” it opened at 10am and we got there an hour early I didn't even know it was going to be this big once we go there the line was big but when it was 15 minutes from opening it quadrupled in size. When we got there it was massive it was worth the wait but we started shopping and we saw that they had a food court me and Jack were starving because we didn't have time to eat so we asked “Can we have a couple of dollars for some food“Yes you can don’t spend it all.” Anna said. “Okay we won't” me and Jack both said. We walked to the food court I got a slice of pizza and Jack got a hot dog once they finished cooking our food and put the food on the counter 4 gang members came her in bikes and they shot towards Jack I jumped in front of him but they still got him, but the gang members weren’t looking for Jack they were looking for the guy right behind us and they shot Jack instead I started sobbing and screaming and my mom and dad recognized me voice they ran over and saw Jack on the floor
bleeding. They took him to the hospital but they weren’t fast enough he died at 11:12 am on September 15, 1983 I can't get a hot dog or go to Costco without remembering Jack’s blood and body on the ground.
