"What a journey this has been! A year filled with emotions, learning, friendship and growth. It has been an honor and a pleasure for me to be crowned as the Ms. United Nations 2009.

I have learned so many things through this event like knowing the importance of celebrating the United Nations Day and the reason why we are celebrating it. We are celebrating UN to keep peace throughout the world; to develop friendly relations among nations; to help nations work together to improve the lives of poor people, to conquer hunger, disease and illiteracy, and to encourage respect for each other’s rights and freedoms.

This experience has changed my entire perspective on life. So many people have given me so much strength, inspiration and gift of dreams answered. I want to thank all the people who helped and supported me. To my friends, to my significant others, and most especially to my parents, you are my Inspiration and I love you

To my co-Divineans, please bear this in your mind. As what our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, said. We, the CHILDREN, are the FUTURE of our NATION. We are not just young people; we are people and citizens of this world. We have the will, the knowledge, the sensitivity and the dedication. We are the children of the world, and despite our different backgrounds, we share a common reality. We are united by our struggle to make the world a better place for all. They call us the future, but we are also the present.

I, Mariell Chloe Trozado, stood with faith in my Maker a year ago, I stand with him now and thank Him for His blessing as I pass along a wonderful gift to a new Miss United

Clinton begins her speech by first discussing the historical significance of Human Rights Day. She appeals to her audience by comparatively highlighting the daunting tasks of the first delegates of the United Nations Human Rights Council while they were drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in the aftermath of World War II. This strategy appeals to the current United Nations Human Rights Council because these are tasks they can most assuredly identify with as council members themselves. Clinton further engages the members of the council by acknowledging the historical significance of the delegates work when she says:…

I traveled New York City alone during this fall break. A lot of things in NYC fascinated me such as fabulous shopping Centers, busy New Yokers on Wall Street, delicious food, meaningful historical places, and a spectacular view from the Empire State Building. However, there was one place that I had to go. It was United Nations. There was a person that I desperately wanted to see, Ban Ki-Moon, the eighth and current Secretary-General of the United Nations. Ban is a very strong and ethical leader and helped me to set my dream to help others.…

The next, January 28, 2013 (Monday), we are scheduled to visit the MAYNILAD WATER TREATMENT PLANT. We arrived at 8:30 o’clock in the morning at MAYNILAD. But before we entered to the plant, all of us were registered to the guard’s log book and we make sure that we are wearing our hard hat for safety purposes. Then Engr. Bautista, (one of the staff of the plant) discussed us about the company profile, the processed and the equipment they used in treating the water. With this, we know that the MAYNILAD is owned by Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS). They are the services provider for the 17 cities and municipalities that comprise the West Zone of the greater Metro Manila area (540 square kilometers) and almost a million of consumers. They have two major source: The Angat Dam and the Laguna Lake. They get almost 97% of water from Angat dam. The plant consists of seven processes, namely, screening, coagulation/flocculation, sedimentation/clarification, filtration and disinfection.…
