She identified herself as Denise Marie Smith with KS DL, she said she was Christina's best friend and was making sure she was OK. I asked her if she was at the house for the altercation and she said no, she was at her house down the street. I asked her if she knew the people involved and she said she did. According to Denise she was married to John and was getting a divorce from him. She was able to identify John who was the suspect as John Steven Smith DOB-09/20/1987, she also said the female that was in the vehicle that wanted to fight Christina was Amber Nicole Mays DOB-12/01/1984. A bright light on a stand was set up to help us look at the house to locate any bullet holes, or other evidence. We looked at the house and could not locate any bullet holes. I then contacted the resident across the street, I asked them if they heard any gunshots or yelling coming from the street. According to both people they sleep in the rear of the house and did not hear anything. We turned the light around and illuminated the house across the street looking for a bullet hole. Nothing was located in either house. A rough sketch of the area was done and measurements were taken of the area and items located inside the crime scene. As I was doing this it was mentioned that the handle to the knife was not anywhere to be found. I went back to the residence and asked Perkins if he knew anything about the knife. He said he picked the handle up that was in the middle of the street and took it inside to throw away. When I asked him why he had done this he did not have an answer. He went into the house and came back out with a broken handle to the knife that was located in the middle of the street. It was turned over to detectives, as they were collecting evidence for the crime scene. They also took photos of the area, evidence and
