addiction completely as I read after the plane accident, he was “drunk on his bed.” Around that time, I acknowledged that Nate did not learn from his past. However, after he met with Rachael Lane Porter, he escaped from his alcoholism. In the book, it mentions how Nate lost attraction towards bars that he used to attend. A great example is shown when Nate meets his son at a bar. His son suggests a drink of a beer, but Nate refuses it. Nate’s dynamic attributes were shown more after he met Rachael Lane. Rachael Lane has inspired Nate to live a godly life. Nate used to live according to the “world” where money and media talks. Nate married a woman, divorce, find another one, and repeated it. Nate said, “… that’s just how it is.” Rachael’s inspiration opened a new door for Nate. Nate sought for repentance, paid more attention on his children, and despised his job. All of these are evidence of Nate as a dynamic character. A remarkable example was when Nate shed tears at a church regardless of not understanding the preaching that took place. When a person’s character changes, their attitudes definitely change.
Nate altered his attitude toward his job after he met Rachael. In the beginning of the book, Nate claimed how he loved to sue doctors. He enjoyed suing doctors, because he can make lots of money from winning the trials. Near the end of the book, Nate claimed that he does not enjoy suing doctors, or even taking part in trials. Nate describes how his job is disgusting, because he has to lie. It’s totally contradicting from what he said in the beginning. This proves that he is a dynamic character. The book clearly tells me how much Nate is a dynamic character. Nate has drastically grown after he met Rachael Lane. Her inspiration helped Nate completely cure his addiction. Her inspiration changed Nate as a whole. He began to try to live a godly life. His challenge on his new life actually made his job an obstacle. Nate’s view on himself, his job, and his addiction has completely changed, which proves that he is a dynamic character. As I have stated and justified my reasons, Nate is a dynamic
character.
