National Anthem Persuasive Speech
No matter how horrible our country might be at the moment, refusing to stand up for the National Anthem shows complete disrespect and dishonor to our country. Our country has been through so much in the past to fight for what we have today, people have risked their lives for you to have an even better one and for you not even acknowledge the importance of the sacrifices they made for you and everyone else, is disgraceful. New Orleans Saints quarterback, also disagreed with the fact that it’s a disrespectful to not stand up during the National Anthem, he stated, “[I]t’s an oxymoron that you’re sitting down, disrespecting that flag that has given you the freedom to speak out.” How could you put no honor towards the flag? The flag that represents
the rights you have been given, the freedom you’re allowed to have, the people who have sacrificed so much for your country. Standing up for the flag represents the thank you that everyone who fought for our nation deserves, acknowledging the fact that you appreciate everything they have done. There’s other ways to bring people’s attention to the terrible situations that’s going on around the world, rather doing something that offends almost everyone in our nation. Ways that are less harmful and disrespectful, ways that don’t cause such an irrelevant scene, something that goes to good use and brings good feedback. Refusing to stand up for National Anthem “is an ineffective and counterproductive way to promote a cause and argument.” America is all about peace and even though sometimes we don’t have all that much peace, it’s for the best to create as much as you can. So not standing up for the National Anthem is not peaceful because it brings a lot of unpleasant opinions as to why you’re disrespecting America present day past, and perhaps even the future. America deserves better, for all the rights and freedoms we have compared to other countries in the world, we should show all the respect we can, even in the littlest ways.
