I think that is is unpatriotic and rude that this is the way people are choosing to protest. I understand that people want to be heard, but to me it is just form of disrespect to our nation. If a person is physically unable to stand up, then it makes sense that they don’t rise for the national anthem, but since the rest of the population can stand, they should stand to pay respect to those who have died fighting for our country, and for those who are serving. The national anthem is the definition of what our country stands for. It says nothing negative about slavery, so I don’t see why people are disrespecting it. I don’t think that standing for our anthem should be a choice, but that’s my opinion. Although I don’t agree with the players kneeling, I believe that since the end of slavery which was approximately 152 years ago, African Americans and people of color are still not being treated equally. The police officers that are doing these cruel and awful things to minorities are not being punished fairly for what they have done and some officers have even taken people’s lives. It’s sad that we live in a broken world. If I could fix it all by myself I would fix it, 100 percent, but I can’t. We all have to work together. I feel like a revolution has already started in America because people are beginning to take a stand for what is right. A revolution has only just begun,
