It is a great honor to be nominated in an esteemed club of NBTHS, which idolizes the importance of academic excellence and values leadership, service and character. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society would not only mark an achievement in my high school career, but would also reflect the hard work and effort I have put into maintaining my grades and developing a respectable character. The NHS gives me a great opportunity to help the community and display my character to its full potential. As a student, academics has been one of my top priorities and maintaining a certain grade in each of my classes has been an objective that I have done to the best of my ability to complete. If I get selected into NHS that objective will be justified and I will acquire more opportunities to improve my community and share my knowledge with others in NHS. After not getting accepted into National Junior Honor Society in middle school I made it a goal that in high school I would possess the attributes to get into NHS. NHS provides a great platform for me to give back to the community (from community service) and share/further develop my …show more content…
qualities of leadership. I want to be in the National Honor Society because it would further benefit me as a person in the future. After graduating high school, I plan on becoming a Cardiologist. This would require me to take care of my patients and in general just help others. I feel that NHS provides me with a great opportunity to do so. Thus far I have been able to garner experience with building character from training in Taekwondo, and from the extracurricular activities I participate in after school (such as key club, American Red Cross club, tennis, etc.). These activities have helped me develop leadership, character and service, or all the qualities needed to become a member of NHS. Moreover, if I am selected into NHS I will able to contribute largely to the club. If I get accepted into NHS, I can contribute by becoming an active and passionate member towards the club to help cross ideas and share input with the leaders of our school’s NHS. This would enable me to promote new ideas for community service projects or help create more fundraisers the club can take part in. If I can’t create a fundraiser, I can still help contribute in the club by participating in various community service opportunities on behalf of NHS. For example, I had previously done parent teacher conferences for American Red Cross Club and I saw many members of NHS volunteer at eh conferences for NHS. If I become a member of NHS, I would be able to do the same and volunteer during the conferences. Overall, my contribution to NHS will be assessed through opportunities for community service and possibly taking a leadership position in the club if I become a member.
In conclusion, becoming a member for NHS will help display my abilities of leadership, character and service to its maximum potential.
Approval into NHS will help me contribute to the prestigious club by participating in community service events and helping create new community service opportunities for the club. It has been a long-term goal of mine to get into NHS and I feel that NHS will be a great precursor for me into becoming a doctor. Helping people and the community is something I am passionate about and continue to be so when I become a doctor. If I get into NHS that passion will be implemented into reality. Overall, NHS provides a great opportunity for me to display character, service, and leadership which I will be able to take forward in the
future.
