National Honors Society

I would like to be a part of National Honor Society. Before selecting me to be a part of National Honor Society I think you should understand my beliefs and views on topics such as scholarship, leadership, character, and service. I believe that success in scholarship is very important. I think that you should earn good grades more for self-satisfactory reasons rather than for rewards that your parents give you. I feel accomplished when I work hard and do well in a difficult class because I know that I worked hard and earned that grade. When I think of national Honor Society, I think of kind, intelligent, hardworking kids and I think it is definitely an honor to be a candidate for membership. When you think of National Honor society you definitely think of kids who work hard for academic success. I’m interested in leading others because I like my ideas to be heard and I’m comfortable in front of people. A good leader should be open minded, have a decent set of problem solving skills, and be able to take charge. I think that if a leader has lead a group into making a wrong decision, then they should be fully prepared to take the blame. When I was little I was super shy and self-conscious but when I got to high school I discovered a class called Positive Peer Influence that really changed me. The class helped me develop problem solving skills, people skills, and has helped me learn to voice my opinion instead of worrying about what everybody else will think of me. I thought I was a follower when I joined that class but it helped me realize that I truly am a leader. I think it is extremely important for a person of good character to respect their elders. It makes me cringe when I see a kid in class calling a teacher all sorts of names and disrespecting them just because the teacher took their phone away. That’s their job and kids should respect that.
