“for the benefit and enjoyment of [all] the people.” It means to promote social justice and democracy in our country. Besides that, national parks are definitely related to leisure as all the people could use their free time to do some recreational activities such as hiking and jogging in any of the national parks. I once visited Joshua Tree National Park last December and was so impressed by the nature, the beauty of the Joshua Tree. I felt so relaxed and restored from my busy schedule. National parks are the place where people could release stress, refresh themselves and gain more energy to continue working.
The national parks are the story of all the people; a story of all of us! People from different backgrounds, no matter rich or poor; female or male; natives or immigrants; people who devoted their lives to build the national park idea and preserve the land they loved; people who would like to visit or visited any of the national parks; they all contribute to the story of national parks and the story of us. The American history is there, is captured in the parks. Regardless of status, race, gender, or ethnicity, all the people should have a sense of responsibility to protect our national parks so that we can proudly show that THIS IS AMERICA. The most special places in the nation should be preserved for everyone.
