Natural Disasters in Indiana
Natural Disasters in Indiana
The natural disasters that occur in Indiana are:
Tornadoes
In order to protect yourself if a tornado occurs you go a small room or hallway. Make sure that there are no videos in the room and wear sturdy shoes. If you are outside don’t hide under anything just stay low and never try to outrun the tornado.

Floods
To prepare for a flood you should move all outdoor furniture inside and if you have a two story house keep the furniture on the second floor. Unplug all electrical equipment but make sure that you aren’t wet or standing in water.

Thunderstorms & Lightning
During storms go inside if you can but if you are outside and you see lightning never hide under anything. Many people think that they should hide under trees but that is the worse place to hide and you are more likely to get struck by lightning that way.

When flooding is happening, you should pay attention to any news warnings and weather advisories on the TV or your phone, so you can know if you need to evacuate and seek…

I can remember when growing the little town that I grew up in had no type of warning for incoming tornados.
