Firstly, we decided that each person developed an own idea about the financial report and accounting challenge. Then we intended to assign tasks for every group member accounting to structure which included in task details. Each person should analyze their own point about challenge and we allocated group parts, such as introduction, by personal willing. I took responsibility of making a conclusion of report and making up all parts from others. Other members took care of title, executive summary, introduction , methodology etc. Basically, we did work as a group. We would share our ideas though group message. For example, we tried to avoid to talk about the same point when we did our personal parts. When we finished everyone’s issues, we combined those 5 ideas together. And then we could continue to write down introduction or conclusion.…

War, it affects the world and everybody involved; the soldiers, government, and citizens. Most people only focus on the impact of it on the soldiers, but never take the time to think how it impacted the women at home and on the battlefield. The idea of a woman’s role in society has been ever-changing, and still is to this day. There was always a sense among women that they lacked in jobs and respect when compared to their male counterparts, but society never saw it, until the outbreak of the Civil War, that is. The Civil War was the turning point for women because it gave them jobs at home, on the battlefield, and created the Red Cross Society, giving women a chance to show the world what they have to offer.…

During the forming stage, the team showed hard work ethic. Rules were put into place that all members agreed to keep. The rules mainly consisted of communicating any issues, and have the assignment done to be put together two days before the due date. Assignments were done with ease. The quality of work was excellent, and finished on time. As assignments started to get harder the team moved into the storming stage. A higher expectation was given with the assignments, as the assignment began to be more demanding. The team members had to plan in order to be on the same page with the assignments. Each member had great enthusiasm and ideas of what would be a great plan for the assignments. While different ideas came, the group had to agree on one plan. This put some of the team members on edge, because of the differences in ideas. The team struggled on a few assignments, but still got good grades. As this happened, the students went into the norming stage of development. All members of the group started to trust the other member’s ideas and became open to doing work in different ways. The team had to work together rather than individually at this point in order to be on the same page. The work became easy and enjoyable for…

How to divide the assignment up among group members was another issue the group had to overcome. Once we decided the part that each group member would complete, each member completed his or her part and submitted as his or her part of the final assignment. When a portion of the assignment was published, each group member would give their thoughts, ideas, and opinions on any changes that might need to be made. In order for this to work, all members agreed that critiques or criticism must be made in a positive manner.…

Initially, I had a negative view on group working because of the challenges that I had. When I was in high school, my five other friends and I used to work together in a music competition. Although we were supposed to get together to practice for the event, we were only able to meet up once a week. In addition to having a hard time with time scheduling, we often did not have a consensus of opinion. Whenever we had a discussion, we usually ended up with no results. So it always took a long time for us to make a decision. Consequently, the performance did not turn out as well as we expected. Because of this initial failure, I thought group work was time consuming and ineffective. However, I have changed my opinion lately because of the successful results in some of my laboratory classes. In each laboratory assignment, it is nearly impossible to work by myself because there are a lot of steps and each step needs to be very precise and accurate. Therefore, a group of two or three students will work more effectively compared to an individual because they can help to remind each other and finish the assignment faster. Based on those experiences, one more time I give myself a chance to work in a group and figured out how work effectively. Finally, thank to the Small group communication class, I found out that group work can become very productive if all the members in the group cooperate and follow the principles of small group communication. In this paper, I want to talk…

    Groups vs. Individuals

This essay is going to examine the main differences between the work of individuals and the work of a group. The perception of the author of the essay title basically states that there are more benefits than drawbacks in the individual work when comparing to the group work as well as that a given task can be completed more efficiently and effectively by an individual. The other part of the title discusses that there is no increase in group performance even though training in group is more interesting and appealing. In order to examine these two statements it is essential to consider every effect that might have an impact on the work of both individuals and groups. What often comes to people’s mind when discussing the advantages and disadvantages of working in a group is that the more people you have the more ideas you have and that the more people you have the faster the given task is completed. This essay will reveal that it is not as simple as many of us might think and that there are many complex elements of people’s behaviour that might have both positive and negative effect on the final task result. In what follows, we’ll have a look at these factors and give reasons why should the work of individual be more effective than group work or why not.…
