Species variation has three parts to it, one being species change over time. Charles Darwin discovered this idea while on his voyage. While looking at fossils and old skeletons from past animals Darwin noticed similarities between bone structure now and the bone structure from the fossil. Some of his findings include that many animals today did come from a common ancestor. Darwin found that the bone structure in both the human arm, and the fin of a whale are the same or very similar, so he concluded that they came from a common ancestor. We also have found fossils of animals very similar to the ones we …show more content…
see today. For this reason I agree with the fact that species change over time. Darwin found evidence through fossils that show what some of the animals we see today evolved from or used to look like. There is plenty of evidence that suggest that our earth, animals and humans have evolved over time, therefore I agree with Charles Darwin on this point.
Species vary locally and species vary globally are two more of Charles Darwin's big points that I agree with, and prove evolution. On his voyage he stopped at the Galapagos island and noticed that there were many different kinds of finches. Darwin noticed that on the different island there were different types of finches that were adapted to the variation of environments in the Galapagos islands. I agree with this idea because as we can notice in our area there are many different types of squirrels and rabbits. Species vary globally was another idea he proposed, suggesting there is a variation is species all around the world. Darwin noticed this when during his trip to Africa, Australia and South America he saw three large flightless birds that looked very similar, although were referred to as different things. I agree with this theory of Darwin's because we can observe that there are many different types of bears all around the world in a variation of locations. Charles Darwin’s ideas that species vary locally and globally are both correct and have strong evidence to support them. Natural selection is the process by which organisms with variations most suited to their environment survive and leave more offspring.
Charles Darwin was the man who thought of this idea of natural selection. I believe that natural selection is a process of evolution that helps many species survive and thrive in their environments. Natural selection helps species adapt to new or changing environments to help them survive better. An example of natural selection in the real world would be the pollution of a lake causing it to become darker then slowly over time as the fish reproduce there would be no light fish, all fish would be dark. Natural selection is basically survival of the fittest. Natural selection has allowed a variation of species to thrive in different
environments.
Overall Darwin’s ideas and theories about evolution are correct and there is lots of evidence that supports that. His ideas about natural selection have helped scientist understand evolution more as well as his ideas about genetic variation. The voyage that Darwin took wound up being very useful and what he found is still being used and developed today. Darwin has also helped explain to use how species vary locally, globally and over time. His ideas have added a lot to the theory of evolution and have proved it to be true.
