Nature In Into The Wild
The film Into The Wild directed by Sean Penn consists in the journey of a young guy called Chris McCandless, a 23 year old who shows us from his point of view just how manipulated society is, based on silly rules and behaviours where studying, getting a job and material things are a priority. Therefore Chris decided to escape from this society to live into the wild, surrounded by nature as is the place where he feels comfortable. Undoubtedly one of the main aims of the film is the contrast between society and nature. To achieve this, the director uses different techniques such as the setting the more important one, lighting, camera angles, sound effects among others, which also help us to the understanding of the characters linking us to their feelings and behaviours.

The most striking theme of the film is undoubtedly the contrast between society and nature since the director uses this to show us the differences of how horrible and unfair society could be, while how beauty is nature. The society showed by Chri's point of view is based on unfairness, manipulation, where people are not concerned about each other, and material things is a priority. When Chirs is talking bout his parent, he said that the graduation is just a way to manipulate people dressing a tie, carrying books, and following ridiculous behaviours. Moreover, Chris also called his parents as “dumbs kids” for the fact that they were going to get married, which tell us that he does not agree with the marriage as it is another way of

His trek into the Alaskan wilderness, which led to his eventual demise, left him remembered as heroic and reckless, a brilliant artist and an irresponsible egotist; but regardless of what one’s opinion is on Chris McCandless, there is no denying that he is interesting and has inspired a variety of works in the media, including author Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild, which was adapted into a film in 2007. Though both the novel and film follow the same storyline, the two have their inevitable differences.…

This turned out to be fatal in the end for Chris. As his death seemed to be a matter of unpreparedness as well as accident. But according to Joseph Kramp his unpreparedness was no fault of his own. He states “his life and horrid death is a witness to how our society is failing our youth today who deeply desire to be apart of communities that help them become accountable to each other’s needs without developing any kind of punitive conscience or need to entirely exit society by venturing into the wilderness” (Kramp 65). This quote is exactly what has been the case with Chris. Instead of his parents seeing what he wanted to do with his life and helping him achieve his aspirations, they tried to steer him in the direction they wanted him to…

The book “Into The Wild” tells the story of Chris McCandless and his journey and interactions with various people. Jon Krakauer the author wrote this book to show people what really happened so they could decide their own opinion of Chris McCandless and his story, instead of judging him on what the media said or critics or whoever. I personally think Chris was a nice smart person but didn’t make good decisions. One example of his bad decisions and the most prevalent one was is his decision to go live off the land with little or no supplies, Chris only brought the clothes on his back and other limited supplies such as cheap boots and a light coat. Another example is his refusal to accept help from people, had he actually took most of the things people offered him he would most likely survived and made it out in one piece living off the land. Those were just a few examples of his stubbornness and bad choices.…

In one of the rare instances that Sean Penn directs a film, he sets out to deliver a view-changing experience and does just that. The philosophical views and the conflict of moral fibres between the protagonist and his family and friends, are the basis of Into the Wild - a recount of the true story of Christopher McCandless - and certainly sparked an interest in me, as I began to question my own perspective on life.…

Some may consider this sudden journey naive or even stupid and spontaneous, but when you recognize Chris' high education and income levels, you have to realize he truly did want something different and awakening within his journey rather than hysteria from his family and peers. He had all the objects needed to succeed, but risked everything to fail venturing off into the wild. Even after reminiscing about Chris and his long journey ending in glorified death, his sister said he "academically, brought home A's, with little effort. Also his father, despite their large and controversial differences claimed he was "a gifted horn player" at a young age (110). People who receive straight A's and play complex instruments at a young age are usually not stupid at all. Once again, proving Chris had a…

The idea of traveling out all by yourself, into the wilderness with no map and little food and living off the land to discover yourself and the nature around you, may not be appealing to many. But after reading Jon Krakauer’s mysterious and passionate story of Chris McCandless’ journey into the wilderness it will cause anyone to dive deep into their soul and question their actions and wonder why someone with a seemingly perfect life would abandon all they have for “self discovery” as Chris does at the ripe age of 22 when he travels to and ultimately dies in Alaska. Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild illustrates Chris McCandless’ journey with enthusiasm and force and persuades the reader to question why throughout the story through powerful diction and anecdotes told by others about Chris’ past.…

The English term "natural history" is a translation of the Latin historia naturalis. Its meaning has narrowed progressively with time, while the meaning of the related term "nature" has widened (see also History below). In antiquity, it covered essentially anything connected with nature or which used materials drawn from nature. For example, Pliny the Elder's encyclopedia of this title, published circa 77 to 79 AD, covers astronomy, geography, man and his technology, medicine and superstition as well as animals and plants.…
