With aspiration to add to my naval career chapter, it is with a great zest that I embark upon this journey of long-term commitment to my country to become a Commission Officer. Time served as an enlisted sailor, the support from my family and the struggle to survive in Togo, West Africa, as a teacher have given me unique experiences and opportunities to obtain the leadership needed to succeed as an Officer. My ultimate goal after the commission is to assume duties and responsibilities initially of a Division Officer, with the aspiration to one day holds the position of the Maintenance Officer on board a large deck ship, hence sees my American dream becoming a reality. I have the necessary technical background to reach this goal, the drive and determination to succeed at it, and the enlisted heart and experience to be the best AMDO available.
As a minority group, I have pushed to succeed at every task, maximizing opportunities to get trained and educated. One of the greatest honors I have received while serving is seeing the professional growth of Sailors that I have influenced in some capacity. I am capable, diverse, and knowledgeable. My time as an enlisted Sailor has prepared me for the challenges associated with obtaining a commission as a Naval Officer. Being part of the most elite group in the military means reaching the pinnacle of Naval excellence. I am truly driven to make a difference for Sailors and be an impact leader in the AMDO and the Navy' future. It will be a great honor to be blessed with the opportunity to become a Naval Officer.
