The class is put to test physical on the first hour that they arrive, this includes multiple pushups, runs, and all the while they have their instructors spraying them with a water hose. The instructors try their best to get the trainees as tired as possible to find the weakest link. The cadets quickly learn that details are extremely important, if they mess up on one thing, even the simplest thing, then …show more content…
they get punished for it. Many students get challenged during different training such as Log PT (they them up and carry a large log down the beach), Elephant Walk (The teams drag a boat along the shore while the best is full of sand), and digging trenches.
Next is Mental, many students leave once they reach this stage.
The instructors make them question why they are there by pushing them to their limits. The cadets learn there is no time to have mistakes. The one thing on their mind is to graduate and become a Navy Seal. They know that it "pays to be a winner". By the end of the week one almost half of the class is gone because they couldn't take the training or got injured. This makes the cadets still in training feel great about themselves, knowing that they made it longer than others.
Lastly is Emotional, many students can rake the emotional strain of BUDS. The instructors insult them, telling them that they are "worthless", "weak", and even calling their names out wrong. Many people would quickly get aggravated if their name is mis-spoken, but the cadets learn that, even though details are important, if they try to correct their superior it would lead to punishment such as push-ups. The students create friends during training and if one leaves they cam get upset but learn to get over it.
In the end inky 17 of the 83 men made it through the 10-week training. Its time to graduate. They still obey any and all orders the instructors give them. Many of the 17 will go into war or even a battle risking their lives for our freedom and our country. Even though many have wivies and children, they still stand and fight for our rights as American citizens. Protecting is from the enemies that threaten to hurt
us.
