Many negative effects were caused by decolonization. One economic negative effect was that when many nations became independent of European colonization, the Latin Americans had a terrible economy. As a result of the war to gain independence and not having the small nations unite together, all the newly created nations had a terrible economy. The war used up a lot of resources, thus, draining the colonies of their resources, leaving them very poor once they had gained their independence. This was first noticed at the beginning of the twentieth century when India’s All-India Muslim League was created as an opposition to the Indian National Congress. A majority of the Muslims lived by the Eastern and North Western parts of the nation. The Hindus primarily lived in the center and Eastern sides of the country. The areas which had a majority of Muslims separated from the rest of India, which contained primarily Hindus.
