This negative perception is further compounded by the overall negative stereotype surrounding drug use. In the case, Izzie’s gender, ethnicity (Latin-American) and lack of formal education immediately places her at a disadvantage as various sources have stated that these factors are correlated with oppression within social services due to preconceived beliefs and misconceptions. The oppression that Izzie experiences can also be explained using the Feminist Framework that insists that domination within social services exist based on how false assumptions that affects how multiple systems within the social system perceive her as a female.
