Abstract Neighborhood conflicts are very common in most neighborhoods. There are a lot of reasons why there may be a conflict. In some cases people do not know how to handle the situations the proper way. When getting aggressive when confronting an issue can make matters worse then what they already are. There are proper steps to take in this kind of situation that way things can get resolves the first time. The most important thing is for you and the neighbor to have a clear understanding of what the issue is before trying to solve it. The three CLO’s that would be discussed are explain the theoretical approach to conflict resolution, demonstrates proper communication skills in conflict resolution, and demonstrate negotiation skills for conflict management.
Common neighborhood dispute Disputes also occur sometimes when people have to share space with their neighbors. For example, disagreements can occur over changes to boundaries such as fences or trees and shrubs, or over use of driveways or common areas (Spyriders, 2008). There are many things that can cause a dispute between you and your neighbors. Things like fences, trees/shrubs/plants, noise, lifestyle/environmental issues, children or teenager 's behavior, dogs and other animals, invasion of privacy (Spyriders, 2008). Fences can cause problems because others may think that it’s over on their side of the property. Noise because it can disturb others and their lives. Children and teenagers can cause a problem by bringing trouble into the neighborhood, and making loud noise. Animals can cause problems also. Their barking can go on through the night which can cause people to lose out on sleeping. The last is invasion of privacy which can be someone spying on another neighbor or going through their mail. But these challenges can be overcome if everyone is genuinely willing to try and if people feel safe to agree and disagree with each other. Disputes can
