Since it’s at the shoreline, many people visit Coal Harbour to go boating. The Coal Harbour Marina offers moorage, rowing lessons, and many different activities for boating enthusiasts. It’s one of the most spectacular marinas in the world! A beautiful piece of artwork also resides in downtown Coal Harbour. The Digital Orca is a statue made of black and white blocks to give it a pixelated effect. It was created in 2009 by Douglas Coupland, a Canadian novelist and artist. The Digital Orca’s unique pixelation illusion has attracted many tourists and Vancouver residents to come to Coal Harbour and take pictures with it. The Olympics is an event that brings many countries together to compete in their favourite sports. The 2010 Olympics were held here in Vancouver, and our Olympic Cauldron currently sits in Coal Harbour. It was lit up during the ceremony back in 2010 and it was a very memorable moment for Vancouver residents. A local service near Coal Harbour is the Canada Place. It’s home to the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel, the Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver’s World Trade Centre, and FlyOver Canada. The Canada place is very large with 23 floors, a height of 267 feet, and it costed $400 million to build. Canada Place is also a cruise ship with 5 white sails on top, and it lights up at night, making it very attractive. Near Canada Place is the Vancouver Convention Centre. Its exhibit hall floor covers 466,500 sq ft,
