The Life of Neil Armstrong “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” Neil Armstrong announced to the world in 1969. This super sensational famous quote was said when the first human being took his first step onto the moon. The operation that got Armstrong on the moon and back was Apollo 11 of the Apollo program. With his leadership and risk-taking he positively changed the future. Neil Armstrong demonstrated courage, determination and perseverance as he accomplished the intense goals throughout his life. He had married Janet Shearon in 1956. After his voyages, Navy resignation, and all the fame, they got divorced in 1994. Neil next married Carol Held Knight in 1994 and they stayed together until Armstrong’s death not long ago. One of America’s hero died due to illness. He underwent bypass surgery on August 7, 2012, to relieve blocked coronary arteries. Although he was reportedly recovering well, he died on August 25th, in Cincinnati, Ohio, after complications resulting from the cardiovascular procedure. After his death, Armstrong was described, in a statement released by the White House, as "among the greatest of American heroes—not just of his time, but of all time." The statement further said that Armstrong had carried the aspirations of the United States ' citizens and that he had delivered "a moment of human achievement that will never be forgotten." He was in space for exactly 8 days, 14 hours, 12 minutes, and 30 seconds. His middle name is Alden. He passed away not even a full two years ago on Aug. 25, 2012. Lived to be 82 and passed in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. What a great legacy to have lived for, for more than 40 years. And he lived to be 82.
