Synopsis
Nestlé is the world’s biggest food and beverage company, their objective are to be recognized as the world leader in nutrition, health and wellness, trusted by all its stakeholders, and to be the reference for financial performance in its industry. Nestlé mission statement is: we believe that research can help us make better food so that people live a better life. Good Food is the primary source of Good Health throughout life. We strive to bring consumers foods that are safe, of high quality and provide optimal nutrition to meet physiological needs. In addition to Nutrition, Health and Wellness, Nestlé products bring consumers the vital ingredients of taste and pleasure. As consumers continue to make choices regarding foods and beverages they consume, Nestlé helps provide selections for all individual taste and lifestyle preferences. Research is a key part of our heritage at Nestlé and an essential element of our future. We know there is still much to discover about health, wellness and the role of food in our lives, and we continue to search for answers to bring consumers Good Food for Good Life.
Question 1
Describe what is meant by market orientation.
Market orientation is means a business reacts to what customers want. The decisions taken are based around information about customers’ needs and wants, rather than what the business thinks is right for the customer. Nestlé believe that using market orientation approach will building customer value which is increase loyalty to Nestlé brand and develop repeat customers. Brand loyalty alone is a distinct advantage in the market because it develops a customer base resistant to attempts from competitors to attract business through more lucrative offers. Beside, market orientation approach also can increasing value for customer base and increases the production costs of product.
