Netatmo, a consumer electronic company that is well known for home monitoring cameras just announced a new smart outdoor security camera loaded with some actually useful features. Named as Presence, this camera s designed in such a way so that it can distinguish between cars, people and animals-are moving outside your house at any time. It’s intended to make you feel safe just like any security system. However, the added benefit will let you know what’s happening outside your home at real time, even if you are not home.
Once installed outside your home, the Presence will keep its discreet eye on your porch or yard. Inside its boxy frame, a deep learning algorithm is installed that makes it
able to specify between what it sees and sends notification to its owner via an accompanying app. You can see a video stream of what’s happening in front of your house on the notification panel of the app.
If you don’t have any outdoor light, nothing to worry about. The camera also comes with a big white light that doubles as a driveway light. And if you turn of the light, it can also shoot infra-red video for you.
You can customize the app as per your need. Just turn off the notification whenever you want or keep recording videos if there is someone roaming in front of your house. The videos are recorded in 1080p and stored on an internal micro SD card. And if you want to deter any intruder, just flip on the floodlight using the app on your Smartphone. It is really safe as the videos don’t end up on the company’s website and you don’t even have to pay any subscription fee.
Introduced in Las Vegas during CES 2016, the Presence will be available this summer for an undisclosed price. This is surely an amazing device for your security; just make sure not to forget interpret any lost driver or random squirrels that are not any potential threat. You can also program the device to filter out threats, but there’s no harm being cautious.
