In Netherland, shaking hands is very important and the most common greeting way. For the first time you meet some one, they will shake hands with you then introduce their name. When the conversation is going to the end, people prefer a hands shaking with saying “goodbye” friendly. Maybe it is not necessary for the next meeting but in business situation, shaking hands is appreciated. The three-Dutch-kiss is also common, especially between friends or among people who know each other well. People kiss each other on the cheeks two or three times. The same with Vietnamese, they also shake hands when greeting, but they shake with both hands, one hand is also common but it has been westernized. Not only shaking hands but also bowing head slightly to show respect. Vietnamese are not just saying hello, to the elderly or to relatives, they have to add the title of the person they are speaking to, for example like: “ Hello, uncle ABC.” The way people use to greet each other is becoming synchronized, or another words is hands shaking is applied all over the world.
