Network and Computer Systems Administrator
I am proposing to write about becoming a network and computer systems administrator, one of the reasons I chose this field to do my final project on is I am already in this field of work and feel that I have a fairly good background and plenty of information to share with others. I started in the Information Technology field in 2000 as a System Support Specialist for a fairly good sized Insurance Company. I have always like computer and figuring out what makes them work so when I had the chance to apply for a job in this field I jumped at it. The internet plays a large part of every company’s day-to-day business. I performed research in the form of a survey on how individuals chose their career choice and their field of study.

In my survey I found that 75% of the individuals that participated completed at least four years of college either at a Junior College then transferring to a Four Year College or at a Technical School. The purpose of my survey was to see how many individuals used their education for their actual career choice or if they even had furthered their education after graduating from high school. All of the individuals answered my question of being employed with full time jobs. One of the questions that I asked is if 10 years ago this was the job they thought they would be in and 90% of them stated that this was not the job they thought they would have. However I did find that almost half of the individuals that participated in my survey have switched careers since their first career choice at least once or more than once. They have either gone back to school to earn a degree for a new career choice or had enough education background to make the switch and find a new job. The interesting thing that I found in my survey is the younger participants stated that it has taken them longer to find a job in the career field of their choice most of them stated it has take 6 months or longer than it did for the participants that graduated 10

The patient very often is by themselves when diagnosed with an illness. Ultimately it is helpful to have a friend or family present when the diagnosis is given. The Patient doesn’t hear the instructions from the doctor and does not listen to what the prognosis is. This often leaves the patient in the dark and with many questions once they get home. After the diagnosis of cancer is heard by the patient, very little of the remaining conversation is retained. For this reason, it is easier to have a friend or family member there not only to listen to what the doctor is saying, but to also be there for consoling the patient. Whether it is to just listen or to talk it through on the ride home, the patient needs someone there to help them deal with the news on their health.…

And many of those who took out loans will drop out of college stated in the article by The Economist: “It does not help that nearly a third of those who take out such loans eventually drop out of college; they must still repay their debts” (Is College Worth It). This statistic means that students will have a huge burden of debts when they drop out of college. Without their degrees, they will have a hard time paying back their loans. Students would be better off if they had applied for a job after high school. Also, a survey states that: “… only half of graduates feel prepared for a job in their field, and only 39% of managers feel that students are ready for the workforce” (Is College Worth It). This shows that even though they have a degree for their field many of them are not ready for the real world. They need more on hand experiences and even possibly part time jobs to get them to be used to the working experiences. According to an article, “Well-Prepared in Their Own Eyes” by Scott Jaschik, employers prefers well rounded employees even if they have a degree in their field. Employers felt more confident in their skills if they had real world work experiences and not just lectures from colleges. Because managers think recent graduates lack the skills they need, it means they will have a hard time…

I found dreams I never knew I would want to accomplish so desperately, which is another reason I started taking college classes my senior year through a running start program. I have found myself valuing all of my work and dedication much more, because being independent has definitely been a beautiful episode that forced me to be an adult. I see myself going to a four-year school and find a job where i can operate with kids and people facing struggles. I love sociology and have always thought of myself working to help others. I have started a new passion towards history and society change over time which has made me strongly perplexed about a career choice. Due to my indecisiveness, I continue to take as many classes as I can, to clarify my decisions, and hope to find a perfect career for…

In “Not All College Majors Are Created Equal,” Michelle Singletary tells the reader that people go to college with their majors in mind but don’t have a clue about what actual jobs are available to them according to their education and on the job training level if any. She says students spend 4 to 6 years just studying for a certain major and not knowing what job would even accept the degree, and resulting in students having huge amounts of loan for a degree that never helped. Singletary also explains how a college education is not necessarily investing in a student’s future if they’re taking out huge loans or not finding out which fields are creating good paying jobs now. I do agree with what Michelle Singletary says about how some students waste their time and money on college. I also agree that college is worth attending, but only if you’re not left with uncertainty.…
