I would delegate some of the responsibilities that I felt the new location manager should be able to handle. I would first sit down with Lei and Dalman to discuss which duties should fall under the location managers position. I feel task like assisting the store managers with problem solving, and weekly meetings should fall under the new location manager position.
I feel that this would help the business by allowing Lei and Dalman more time to focus on growing the business, finding new locations, and monitoring their competition. If Sandwich Blitz wants to grow a franchise Lei and Dalman are going to need to focus 100% on the direction of the business.
2. Is promoting an existing manager the best option to fill this position? If not, what is an alternative source to fill the position.
There are two things that Lei and Dalman needs to be aware of in this position. By pulling the two managers out of their store’s, they could implement the skills and techniques that helped their stores to thrive. The two managers can provide a better insight on how to build better relations ships with the customers and employees and assess ways to bring in more business.
The second thing that Lei and Dalman needs to be aware of, is that by pulling the two managers from their location, could possibly affect the business that they were bringing in. Lei and Dalman need research what is causing these two locations to thrive more than the others. If it is the managers relationship with the customers, it may have a negative effect. It is very important that Lei and Dalman explore all the resources before they make this change.
