Never Give Up In Fly Away Home By Eve Bunting
in the story Fly Away Home, by Eve Bunting I notice that a recurring theme in the story is Never give up. An example is he was frustrated early in the story .A quote that goes with this is “I can accept failure everyone fails at something, but what I can't accept is not trying.”-michael jordan

In the story he said “will we ever find an apartment” he was getting mad at people because he doesn't understand why they have a house and he doesn't. In the story he is disappointed that he has no house. But he tries not to show his emotion because he knows he will get caught. But early on you can tell he is mad from the way he acts.

Later in the story he turns frustration to hope when he see’s the bird get out of the airport. Then he thought it

Set in the Australian summer of 1967, Michael Gow’s Away is an elaborate play which explores the ideas of self- discovery and change. Through the war affected nation, three families, each from different social classes, depart on an iconic Australian holiday to the beach. In the play, Gow utilises the characters to demonstrate that going away physically is intrinsically linked to their mental developments. With the help of references to Shakespeare’s A Midsummer night’s Dream, Away uses Gwen and Coral to show the significant psychological changes made by the characters during holidays to the coast. Tom throughout the play acts as a catalyst for the change in other characters and is associated with Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.…

Life is merely a journey. On a journey, an individual experiences a range of obstacles, either expected or unexpected, which shapes their life. Such obstacles initiate the process of change and transformation. Clearly, through a close study of the play ‘Away’ by Michael Gow, the poem ‘Whither will I Wander’ by William Shakespeare and the picture book ‘I had trouble in getting to Solla Sollew’ by Dr Seuss, the characters experience various degrees of change and transformation. Factors that impact on the degree a character changes and transforms include: support networks and the ability or inability to accept reality. Through the use of language and visual techniques, each composer conveys how each character faces a degree of change within their journey.…

Led Zeppelin’s ‘Bring it on Home’ was released in 1969 as the somewhat monstrous concluding track of their album ‘Led Zeppelin 2’. Led Zeppelin are undoubtedly one of the most legendary and most famous rock bands in history; created by the former member of the yard birds Jimmy Page in 1968, the band have sold 111.5 million certified units in the US and over 200 million records worldwide.
