Chapter 1
Tommy is naive. He thinks that being the best football player meant he will be chosen first. He was proved wrong by the boys who were just teasing him. In result Tommy "began to scream and shout, a nonsensical jumble of swear words and insults"(9). when Kathy went to calm Tommy down "[Tommy] threw up his arm, he knocked [Kathy's] hand and hit the side of [Her] face"(11).
Chapter 3
Tommy being unable to submit any worthy art pieces made him felt useless
Ms. Lucy thought that the students were not clearly told about that what donations meant and she was enraged with the guardians.
When Carol H. mistakenly mentioned the Gallery in front of Mr. Rogers others were furious with her and after the incidence she "immediately put her hand over her mouth with an 'oops!' "(32).
Ruth and her friends make a plan to find about why Madame is so afraid of them. while executing their plan they realizes that she find them as scary as she would be to spiders "Hannah burst into tears. Even Ruth looked really shaken "(35). chapter 4
When the Gallery was mentioned in front of Miss Lucy by Polly everyone was very furious with her for breaking the unwritten rule.
Chapter 5
Kathy gets in a fight with Ruth over a chess game. when she discovered this then she" stood up, packed the set and walked off"(53).
Kathy argued about the secret guard with Moira after she was expelled from the group. They both get in a heated discussion when Kathy says “What do you know about it? You just don’t know anything, because you have been out of it for ages now!”(55).
After suspecting that Ms. Geraldine gave Ruth the pencil box, she bluffs about “Looking through the book. you know, the thing register thing”(59), Making Ruth embarrassed about the whole pencil box agenda.
