The Magical Lands Whether your mind drifts off into Wonderland or you travel to Neverland it is sure to be quite the adventure. Although both lands have their downfalls, the friends you make along the way make both lands worth the troubles that await. Thanks to J.M. Barrie and Lewis Carroll’s original works of literature, several variations have grown the stories for added enjoyment. Now that the stories have expanded, readers and viewers everywhere have more to love while also having room to compare the new tellings. Both stories share the idea of a strong female lead as well as life threatening antagonists that they must overcome. Thankfully, with their unlikely friends nothing is able to hold them back for long. Wonderland and Neverland, although two completely different tales they have similarities that can cross over at times. Unfortunately, both are fictional and only our beloved characters are able to visit said places. Although each land has its issues, it is enjoyable to watch people come together in these tales to stand up to the darkness plaguing the lands many consider to be home. Alice is confused by adulthood but strives to be a mature young woman, in that she is constantly trying to fit in. Alice in Wonderland has more adult themes helping her transition into an adult, what she wants. Odd that she starts to get there through a land with talking cats and bunnies. Her polar opposite is Peter Pan. He refuses to grow up, the thought scares him deeply. His innocence shows he only sees the world as good or bad nothing in between. These young protagonists are surrounded by casts of characters that help outline which side the separate authors take on growing up. All in all these two opposites make the tales all the more interesting even if they are completely
