Although, after discussion and interpretation, I believe
folly became a great fit for the tagline of the company. A word like folly has fallen so far off from the original context; especially those who may not be familiar with the brand can take it out of context. Following one’s folly, refer to the “ideal of eccentric activities, something similar to what NBB offers in their brews” (Ferrell& Hartline, 2014). The framework in which information is delivered often aids in the assumptions and opinions about that information, this can influence the consumer purchasing decisions in a positive or negative manner. Information taken out of context can cause a company to lose existing customers as well as potential customers.
Although the term ‘folly” can have a negative association, they were actually able to join by way of the professional or group of people who follows the traditional course of existing within a capitalist market but still has artistic leanings and desires (Ferrell & Hartline, 2014). The majority of the Tinkerer was received very well by the NBB organization.
