New Meaning of the American Dream Opportunity is something America promised no matter what class you’re in but lately there are not many opportunities for anyone anymore. The American Dream is what people from other countries come to America to live but they do not realize it is harder to achieve than they really think. There are some things that can stay the same but most will have to change. The American Dream is very much alive but because of all the new technology and everything changing in the twenty first century there is going to be a new definition for it. Although most people do not have this kind of money $130k is the set amount of money that people consider someone being able to live the dream. “An analysis by USA TODAY shows that living the American dream would cost the average family of four about $130,000 a year” (Gold, Howard R). You do not have to be rich to be happy or have everything you want. Some people know the difference between wanting and needing something. Yes having lots of money and being happy all the time sounds great but it is probably also very tiring. Somebody making that amount of money puts in lots of work and hours at their job the money doesn’t just go into their hands. They’re not always happy like people think they are the people that are considered living the dream are probably tired because of how hard they work. You have your own definition of the American dream just because the internet tells you different does not mean anything. Nobody is happy all of the time but living up to the dream maybe sometimes stressful because you have to keep up and keep things you want. If you are happy and comfortable with your money and life you are living the
