The likely decision process of this target market is a simple one. In most economies and markets buying a sport drink would be identified as a limited problem solving decision; as Solomon (2004) describes LPS as having low risk and low involvement from the consumer. However, in some cases it could be perceived as more of a routine problem solving (RPS) decision due to their being few alternatives on the market to choose from, and thus consumers become easily attached to one brand. Another case in point is that it could also been seen as an extended problem solving decision as certain sportspersons will want to know exactly what ingredients and benefits the sports drink offers and will therefore deliberate for quite some time over the alternatives (Hawkins, 1995).…

Energy drinks, spots drinks, and vitamin-enhanced beverages use many strategies to find a good position in the beverage industry in the Global market, which also give us some ideas about how to operate beverage companies. Firstly, alternative beverages take the action via wider product selection, better product quality, good delivery system to gain sales and market share. For example, PepsiCo develops 12 flavors of Amp Energy drinks and 28 varieties of SoBe vitamin-enhanced drinks (Gamble, 2010, p.C-83). Again, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola through their own soft drinks distribution channels to deliver energy drinks at the same time, which reduce much time and cost. Secondly, energy drinks take big actions to enter emerging market opportunities, like most Asia countries and South America. For example, alternative beverages take 31.5% market share in Asia-Pacific in 2009 (Gamble, 2010, p.…

Coca-Cola controlled the Indian market until 1977, when the Janata Party beat the Congress Party of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. To punish Coca-Cola's principal bottler, a Congress Party stalwart and longtime Gandhi supporter, the Janata government demanded that Coca-Cola transfer its syrup formula to an Indian subsidiary. Coca-Cola balked and withdrew from the country. India, now left without both Coca-Cola and Pepsi, became a protected market. In the meantime, India's two largest soft-drink producers have gotten rich and lazy while controlling 80% of the Indian market. These domestic producers have little incentive to expand their plants or develop the country's potentially enormous market.…

I would want sports drink to be a part of my diet because it hydrates me during my long exercises. Although water is much healthier and good for the body, it's only better when it's an exercise sixty minutes or less. I personally would prefer to drink sports drinks since I exercise for longer than an hour. Sports drinks shouldn't completely replace water in a person's diet but if someone wants to get a boost of energy during their workouts, they should drink them instead of water.…
