It gives the background and the usage of the word or phrase which helps to make the New Testament come alive for the reader. Mr. Hester author of the book New Testament Bible History Illustrated handbook did a great job of breaking down the New Testament into a very understandable way. His use of illustration, maps, and real life photos throughout the book, made it an enjoyable book to not only read and study but to look through as well. I believe this book would be a great tooling in sermon or lesson preparation. But it is also a book that can be used by the everyday person who just wants to deepen their understanding of the New Testament. Mr. Hester said, “The completion of the New Testament series is a great encouragement to our faith in a God of Whom it has been said, “Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it (I Thess. 5:24).” After reading and looking through this book I would have to agree with Mr. Hester.
