Newton's Second Law Of Physics: Keeping The Mousetrap Car
Newton’s second law of physics dictates that acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass of the object, the greater the force needed to put the object in an accelerated motion. This relationship can be viewed in the formula:
Force = mass (acceleration)
The key to keeping the mousetrap car accelerating is to keep the forces acting upon it unbalanced. The force of the mousetrap car has to be larger than the force of friction working against the car. Because the force provided by the mousetrap is rather minuscule, and the force needs to strong enough to move the mousetrap car, we are faced with our next obstacle.
