The first category of teams would have to be the teams that are good every single year. These teams have records anywhere from 11-5 to 15-1. I would add the occasional 16-0, but that has only happened a few times. These teams are probably some of the most hated teams in the …show more content…
NFL. Honestly, people get tired of seeing these teams win. Teams that I would put in this category are the Patriots, the Steelers, and the Broncos. It doesn’t seem like they can do anything wrong in the league. No matter what they do, they win. For instance, the patriots this year. They are on their third string quarterback and are still winning. Teams in this category never seem to lose. Maybe eventually teams in the middle of the pack will find a way to win more.
The next category of teams would be the teams that go around 8-8 year in and year out.
These teams are always decent, but never find a way to play with the winners. These teams might make the playoffs in a very bad division, but never seem to make it anywhere. Teams in this category would be, the Cowboys, the Rams, and another team could even be the Jets. These teams have had success in recent years, but they never seem to make it to the big stage and win it all. Even when they do have success, they do it with records like 8-8, or 9-7. These teams may disappoint their fans, but they are not the complete disappointments of the …show more content…
league.
The disappointments of the league are teams that are suppose to be good every year, but they never seem to live up to expectation.
These teams are talked about all offseason long. The analyzers talk about how good they are going to be and about how they have a chance to do big things during the season. The thing is, they never do what they are suppose to. Instead of doing big things, they always taper off and lose out of the playoffs, or they don’t even make the playoffs. Teams in this category would be almost the whole AFC West. The Chiefs first of all, the raiders, and even the Chargers. This division is always supposed to be the best division in the league, yet it never lives up to that. No matter how much they are talked about, they still never seem to do anything. They never have the worst record in the league, but they certainly don’t have the best.
The next category is the losers of the league. These teams never do anything. They go out with a record around 2-14. These records could be better, but not in many circumstances. These teams could be bad for the simple fact that they are just bad. They could also be bad because they have a lot of key players injured. The circumstances don’t matter, they are just bad. Teams that fit into this category are the Jaguars, the lions, and the Bills. It doesn’t seem to matter what offseason moves they make, how they practice, or who their coach is, they are just
bad.
No matter what the NFL is like in a single year, or over many years, there are categories. Teams could either be a winning program, a middle of the pack program, a disappointment, or they could just be plain bad. These teams could change spots throughout the years, but in my lifetime it has remained nearly the same. It seems like the same teams are always good, and the same teams are always bad. This goes the same for every team in between. It just seems like once your are in a category, you stay in that category.
